Posh pashmina scarf from Thailand for $5
Our personal trainer at the gym is a pink fiend and when we ran across this gig offering to ship a handmade silk pashmina scarf from Thailand, we were intrigued. (Unfortunately the gig has since gotten lost in the vast Fiverr closet but you can see it here.)
The scarf is shimmery, unbelievably light and airy, with slubbed threads and an open weave. There’s sparse fringe on both ends. The whole shebang measures 60 inches long by 13 inches wide. The pink we selected is actually more like mauve, so we won’t be gifting it after all. Instead it’ll go into our wardrobe to await a wedding or other special occasion.
Color choices are: very dark purple, light blue, sea blue, mid blue, navy blue, yellow, orange, violet, purple, silver, red, murky green, light green, forest green, mid pink, light pink, golden brown, creamy white, black and bright turquoise.
Found on Fiverr: Vintage spoons repurposed as garden markers for $5
What a sweetly nostalgic idea.
Elise, aka goozeberryhill, will create a garden marker out of a vintage spoon stamped with the word or short phrase of your choice. The examples she used were Herb Garden, Veg Patch and Salad Garden, but you can do something more personalized. We’re thinking you could even write something like Get Well or I Love You and tuck it into a flowering plant.
We asked her how she came up with this genius gig and here’s what she said:
I took a silversmithing course at my local college where we paid a small fortune for little bits of silver to stamp with letter punches so to save money I started to use old spoons and cutlery to practice on. This led onto making Birthday, Christmas and any other occasion gifts for Friends and family on Antique and vintage spoons.
The idea for the garden markers came from seeing my Dad putting little wooden sticks in to his garden during planting season and the writing inevitably getting washed off in the rain. So for his Birthday last year I gave him a set of garden markers with the names of all the seeds he plants every year.

With this post we inaugurate a new Fiverrlicious feature: Found on Fiverr, for precious little gems and quirky discoveries you might otherwise miss.
I will send you a randomly-selected funny t shirt for $5
Fiverr seller conchtees says, “Be the envy of all your friends with your new funny tee, or be the awesome friend who gives the best gift at the party! You pick the size (S through 4XL) and gender. We’ll pick the shirt. ”
In retrospect we think we were hoping for a laugh-out-loud t-shirt that was funny without being gross. It turns out the randomness wasn’t all that random; the shirt we received was the Easy But Not Diseasy one shown in the picture. (Ours turned out to be a much darker green.) Total price including shipping was $9, which is a little steep if you end up not liking the design.
Our shirt blank is a 100% cotton Anvil made in Nicaragua. Nice weight. And kudos for offering large sizes, something not often seen. We’ll be gifting this to a friend.
Head shrinker
We’re always browsing Fiverr for the (well, let’s be honest) kinky and outrageous. Facebook girlfriends and dancing fiends are no longer enough to intrigue us. We want something authentic and startling that you can’t get anywhere else.
Which is why we were so juiced when we saw this shrunken head gig. As Fiverr seller sfx_artist says, “Why a shrunken head? Why the hell not?” Our sentiments exactly. For less than the price of movie admission this special effects artist will send you detailed illustrated instructions for making your own latex shrunken heads. There’s just enough detail about the actual process used by tribal primitives to creep you out slightly. And what could be better than a frisson of horror for Halloween?
sfx_artist asks that you not copy the plans and resell them, which seems fair — you wouldn’t copy a book page-for-page and run off hundreds of copies, would you? And frankly, we wouldn’t mess with a guy who knows this much about preserving the heads of his enemies.
I will create a video congratulating someone then dance 1 min of their favorite song for $5
Here’s a puzzler.
She’s not pink and she’s definitely not a koala. In real life pinkkoala is 23-year-old Panamanian/Italian Fabiola, whose dulcefabiola23 YouTube channel has a very respectable 2,107 subscribers. And she’ll hold up a congratulatory sign and boogie for you.
Here she puts the “licious” in Fiverrlicious…
She also does video spos in English or Spanish and will pose by the pool in her bathing suit holding your sign. We have a feeling that one’s going to be popular.
angeltheartist meets Fifi the pink website fairy
When our jaded adult eyes first fell on this gig, it seemed a bit like Pippi Longstockings on acid. It must have been the wig, because the smile is serene.
What is there to say on the subject of fairies? Tall, short, plump, slender, redhead, blonde or brunette, they come in every shape, size and color imaginable. One feature, though, is a constant: the magic wand.
Fifi the Pink Fairy wields her star-tipped scepter in the service of the greater good, bringing joy and wonder — and those high-wattage pink braids — to bear on the problems that face everyday people like you and me. Such as, for instance, promoting your website.
When the day is done and a weary fairy returns to her California abode to refill on pixie dust, she pauses for a moment to reflect on her cross-country odyssey.
“I was born and raised in New York City. I started drawing when I was just 12 years old, born with a passion to draw everything. I am a sketch artist, and have been drawing people in fairs, block parties, parks and birthdays for 4 years now. Moving to California made me believe in changing myself and trying new things, so I decided to dress up a fairy for Halloween. I walked around my local mall and children just started running to me and hugging me thinking I was a real fairy. So I said to myself, why don’t I sketch and be a fairy at the same time? Kids began to love my sketches even more.
“Whenever a little boy or girl gets a sketch from me now I tap my magic wand on their heads and say `Count to three and close your eyes, and all your wishes will come true.’ Making little children laugh and seeing them believe in something so amazing makes my day.”
